Subspecialty Pediatrics EPA to Milestone Advisor

You can submit a spreadsheet with learners and subspecialty pediatric EPA levels and receive recommendations for Milestone levels based on the ABP's Subspecialty EPA-to-Milestones expert mapping in a per-learner report or a consolidated spreadsheet.

How to format the spreadsheet:

• It should have a single sheet
• The sheet's first row will be ignored, except cell A1, which should blank.
• The sheet's second row should contain these columns:
  • programid - your program's name or number, for reports
  • assessmentdate - the date the EPAs were collected. This column must be formatted as Text, not as Date, but should contain text of the form MM/DD/YYYY.
  • learnid - your learner's name or number, for reports
  • pgy - the learner's PGY at the date of assessment (a number)
  • season - "Fall" or "Spring" - the academic season at the date of assessment
  • mapping - the code for your subspecialty. Choose from: ADOL, CARD, CHAB, CRIT, EMER, ENDO, DBEH, GAST, HEMO, HOSP, IDIS, NEON, NEPH, PULM or RHEU.
  • A set of columns EPA 1, EPA 2, ..., EPA 7, containing the EPAs observed, using the following scale:
    
    

    1	Trusted to observe only
    2	Trusted to execute with direct supervision and coaching
    3	Trusted to execute with indirect supervision and discussion of information conveyed for selected simple and complex cases
    4	Trusted to execute with indirect supervision and may require discussion of information conveyed but only for selected complex cases
    5a	Trusted to execute without supervision but not yet ready to also supervise others in the execution of this EPA*
    5b	Trusted to execute without supervision and also trusted also supervise others in the execution of this EPA*
    *where supervision means: Ability to assess patient and learner needs ensuring safe, effective care and further trainee development by tailoring supervision level for this EPA

    
    An EPA that was not observed should be assigned the value "0" for the learner.
    
    
• The remaining rows should be learner data, with one row per learner per assessment period.
